Todd Recknagel, President
Todd R. Recknagel joined as President and partner in Mr. Handyman International in early 2003. Mr. Handyman is now a system with over 300 territories open and system sales in excess of $65 million at the end of 2008. Under Recknagel’s direction, Mr. Handyman became the largest employer of handymen worldwide, added actor and home improvement guru Richard Karn as the brand’s spokesperson, expanded internationally in China, the United Kingdom and Ireland and led initiatives to drive consumer sales.
Prior to Mr. Handyman, Recknagel founded, owned and operated the largest traditional / multi-unit franchisee of Blimpie International, Inc. for nine years. Recknagel earned his MBA in Finance at Michigan State University and a B.A. in Business Administration and Economics from Hope College. He served on the Board of Directors of the International Franchise Association, currently chairs the IFA Membership Committee and has been a member of both the IFA Franchisee & Franchisor Forum for the past seven years. He was named Blimpie International’s Franchisee of the Year award winner in 1998, the International Franchisee Association’s Franchisee of the Year award winner in 1999 and the United States Chamber of Commerce Blue Chip Enterprise Award winner in 2000. And, every year we’re fortunate to have him lending his aggressive, hands-on, and bottom-line—but let’s make this a fun business—approach to building the Mr. Handyman brand.
Frank McCarthy – CEO MrHandyman UK & Ireland
Frank set up his first Service Business at 25 years of age and went on to employ just on 1400 employees in the UK and Ireland. Born in Dublin having left school at 13 years of age has always found ways to be successful. Frank developed and sold three previous businesses, in every sense of the word he is the true Entrepreneur. In his own words he sees great potential in the MrHandyman concept and a huge opportunity for small business owners to take a tried and tested formula and become successful. Up to the age of 25 frank developed his selling skills in the tough, competitive world of office equipment with Pitney Bowes both in the UK and Ireland.
Jacky Montgomery – Finance Director
Jacky has worked alongside Frank McCarthy for over 25 years and has been involved in all the success along the way. While Jacky is Finance Director she wears many hats and is an exceptionally talented multi-tasked person. Jacky fully understands the benefits of adhering to a tried and tested business formula. Her years of experience will be a huge asset and help to MrHandyman New Business Owners who will be able to benefit from her vast experience in all aspects of running their business.
Rob McCarthy – Marketing and Business Development Director
Rob graduated from Griffith College, Dublin with a Business & Law Degree. He spent one year in Marketing for Heineken Ireland. From the age of 17 years, Rob has spent his summer months working and helping in all aspects of his fathers Businesses, learning the hard ground work.
Rob has a keen interest in Rugby, he learned the game while attending Terenure College from
1992 – 2003 where he played for the school senior team and went on to be an Ireland International at under 19 level.
